Dark brooding poetry from a teenager who left home at age 16, hitchhiked across Canada and North America with his Bowie knife and harmonicas.
Still awestruck by the violence and evil of the world, Coyote's interactions with Green Berets, draft resisters, and Vietnam vets needed an outlet. These poems are regurgitations of Coyote's first experiences with murderers, rapists, and convicts. Yuck. But there is some good poetry in here that has some hope to it...with some weird twists like the poem, ______ about a failed suicide attempt by hanging...well, the body died, but the soul remained in the body...
